CLASSLA officially recognized as CLARIN Knowledge Centre

Submitted by Linda Stokman on

CLARIN ERIC is proud to announce the recent establishment of the CLARIN Knowledge Centre for South Slavic languages (CLASSLA).

The CLARIN Knowledge Centre for South Slavic languages (CLASSLA) offers expertise on language resources and technologies for South Slavic languages. Its basic activities are (1) giving researchers, students, citizen scientists and other interested parties information on the available resources and technologies via its documentation, (2) supporting them in producing, modifying or publishing resources and technologies via its helpdesk and (3) organizing training activities.

CLASSLA is operated by CLARIN.SI.

CLARIN Knowledge Centres

K(nowledge)-centres are important components of the CLARIN Knowledge Sharing Infrastructure, as these are the places where people from within and outside the CLARIN community can get access to specialized knowledge and expertise in many fields.  At this moment CLARIN has 17 K-centres, covering a variety of languages (and language families), modalities, data types, technologies and more (see the complete list on https://www.clarin.eu/content/knowledge-centres).

Apply to be recognized as a K-Centre

Have you considered to have your centre recognized as a CLARIN K-Centre, either on your own or together with other partners (possibly in other countries)? You can do so with not too much effort, and you can do so even if you are not active in CLARIN yet, and even if you are not in a CLARIN member country. For more information, have a look at the page on knowledge centres, in particular the instructions for applicants. It is also possible for an institution to join an existing distributed K-Centre as one more partner if you have expertise in the same area.
