CLARIN legal expert Ville Oksanen dies at 37

CLARIN legal expert Ville Oksanen unexpectedly passed away in Helsinki on Sunday morning November 23th.

He was 37 years old. 

Ville played a key role in shaping the CLARIN resource policies from the beginnings of the CLARIN infrastructure and he actively contributed to CLARIN policies on legal issues. 

Well known as an ardent defender of privacy and freedom of expression, Ville was co-founder of Electronic Frontier Finland (Effi), a non-profit association for the protection of civil rights in the field of information and communication technology. 

He also worked as researcher in Aalto University, and as lawyer in Turre Legal, a law firm specialised in technology, media and copyright issues.
