CLARIN2024 Presenter Guidelines

 

This guide is intended to help you to prepare for the conference and your presentation. Guidelines for the following presentation formats are included:

  1. Oral presentations of abstracts
  2. Poster presentations of abstracts
  3. PhD Posters
  4. CLARIN Bazaar stalls
  5. Printing your poster

All presenters are kindly requested to upload their final slides in PDF and/or PPT(X) format to the relevant Dropbox link (see relevant section, below) at their earliest convenience, but preferably no later than 10 October, 18:00 CEST.

Copyright

Please ensure that any materials presented on your slides and/or posters (e.g., images, written works, audio material etc.) are not protected by copyright law. CLARIN refuses to publish any infringing content. Even if materials appear freely usable, ALWAYS check if obtaining permission and/or specific attribution is required before using material created by other people, even if you do not see a copyright notice on the material. If you copy, display, or distribute copyrighted material without permission, you may be violating copyright law. In case of doubt, please contact events [at] clarin.eu (events[at]clarin[dot]eu).


1. Oral Presentations of Abstracts

Each oral presentation is allocated a 20-minute time slot (see the conference programme for times and location), of which 15 minutes are reserved for the presentation itself, and 5 minutes for discussion.

2. Poster Presentations of Abstracts

Poster presentations will take place on 15 October from 17.00-18.00 at MR.10+11 (see the conference programme). Presenters are kindly asked to set up their posters during the lunch or coffee break preceding the conference opening session.

Please report to the reception desk before 15:30 to receive your allocated poster board number. 

  • Poster size: The maximum size for posters is A0 (84.1 cm x 118.9 cm)
  • Poster orientation: Posters must be in portrait mode

If you would like to have your poster showcased on the CLARIN website, please upload all your materials using this Dropbox link. In addition, you are welcome to use the CLARIN poster template for your presentation, but this is not required. You may find it in the style guide.


3. PhD Posters

PhD students put forward by their national consortium are invited to bring and present a poster showcasing their research during the dedicated PhD Student Session on 16 October from 13.30-14.30 at MR.10+11(see the conference programme).

Presenters are kindly asked to set up their posters during the morning coffee break or lunch break preceding the poster session.

  • Poster size: The maximum size for posters is A0 (84.1 cm x 118.9 cm)
  • Poster orientation: Posters must be in portrait mode

If you would like to have your poster showcased on the CLARIN website, please upload all your materials using this Dropbox link. In addition, you are welcome to use the CLARIN poster template for your presentation, but this is not required. You may find it in the style guide.

4. CLARIN Bazaar

If your request for a stall at the CLARIN Bazaar has been accepted, you are welcome to present your work-in-progress, ideas, visions and demonstrations at the Bazaar on 16 October from 17.20-19.00 (see the conference programme).

Presenters are kindly asked to set up their posters during the afternoon coffee break (15:30-16:00) preceding the Bazaar session.

  • Posters:
    • Poster size: The maximum size for posters is A0 (84.1 cm x 118.9 cm)
    • Poster orientation: Posters must be in portrait mode
  • A table for laptop or other material can be provided on request (based on limited availability)
  • Please bring your own demonstration computer

If you would like to have your poster and handout materials showcased on the CLARIN website, please upload all your materials using this Dropbox link.


6. Printing Your Poster

Please note that we cannot print your poster and that you are expected to print it yourself. We recommend that you print your poster at home and bring it with you. Alternatively, please see below a local printing service.
