Report on the CLARIN DELAD workshop

Submitted by Linda Stokman on

DELAD (which means SHARED in Swedish) is an initiative to establish a digital archive of disordered speech and share this with interested researchers.

DELAD was initiated by Martin Ball from Linköping University. In October 2015 and June 2016 workshops were held in which selected researchers and data curation specialists discussed relevant issues in setting up such an archive, how to link the initiative to existing resource infrastructures such as CLARIN, and how to find funding to implement the archive.

In CLARIN context, a first workshop (a CLARIN Type I workshop) was held on 15-17 November 2017 in Cork, Ireland, and brought together a selected group of experts in language disorders research and corpora of disordered speech to set-up a plan to collect existing and new corpora and to include these in the CLARIN infrastructure.
